Naomi Judd talks about her career, health and how to live life

YAKIMA, Wash. - Country music singer Naomi Judd spoke at the Capitol Theatre Wednesday about the lessons she's learned on life from her career and health as the latest speaker for the Yakima Town Hall series.

Judd was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 1990 and she explained that event shaped her current view on life. She says her success has made for extraordinary moments but when she is not working, she lives simply.

"You guys have given me that sort of American Express Gold Card in the department store of life," said Judd. "I get to do these outrageous things but my choice, I live in the country. "

Judd announced she and daughter, Wynonna, are recording new music and will be going on tour.

She says her motto on life is "Slow down, simply, and be kind." The final speaker of the season will be Luis Alberto Urea on April 14.
